Quincy's Bar & Grill Revisited | Wichita By E.B.

It’s probably been 5-7 years since I last stepped foot inside Quincy’s Bar & Grill. The drinking hole on West Street used to be a place we would frequent occasionally. Funny story, the last time we went there, Quincy’s had a steak night special. My buddies and I had a contest to see who could eat the most. That night ended up being pretty rough for us due to the sheer amount of food we tried to fit in our bodies.

I wanted to revisit Quincy’s and avoid the pressures of food eating competitions, so I went by myself.

The day I dropped by, Quincy’s had a BBQ chicken flatbread special for $9. I went with that and asked what my server’s favorite dish was. She suggested the Italian Sub, so I opted for that as well.

It came with a basic house salad. Nothing over the top or special here, just a simple salad that you often see served as bars.

Next up, was the BBQ chicken flatbread. There were plenty of toppings including chicken to go around. They really loaded the flatbread to make sure no one left hungry. It was quite flimsy, but otherwise a tasty little meal.

My favorite, though, was the Italian Sub. It came with tots that were OK, but everything else was excellent. The baked sub had pepperoni, ham, and a healthy dose of mozzarella cheese. It came with a creamy Italian dressing, which I couldn’t get enough of. I was tempted to order some creamy Italian dressing and Crown as a drink, but figured the texture wouldn’t be as appealing. Instead, I smothered each bite of my sub with the dressing. I was tempted to call my buddies to relive our steak eating competition and turn it into an Italian dressing eating competition.

Regardless, I loved every bite of it, and it was such a steal of a meal for $9.

Kudos to the servers. There were two of them running the whole place. Even as the bar began to fill up, they did a bang up job on making sure everyone was taking care of.
